Regions/Members - North of French River

North of the French River

The Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Forest region covers the majority of the landscape of North of the French River and supports many wildlife species such as fishers, forest raptors, amphibians, large mammals such as moose and deer and a diverse array of songbird species. The largely coniferous forest cover throughout the region means it is important for residents and visitors to be FireSmart. The economy in this area is based primarily on natural resources including mining and forestry. The values and concerns of FOCA members in this area, such as water quality and fish habitat are a direct reflection of this. Local, municipal government is an important point of contact for many rural, waterfront issues. FOCA has compiled a comprehensive list of municipal contact information for your area which can be found in the Municipal Contacts link at left; these documents are searchable.

This region has over 30 FOCA member associations.
