This region encompasses a small section of southern Georgian Bay west to Lake Simcoe and South to Lake Ontario. Major landscape features in this area include the Niagara escarpment Biosphere Reserve which runs north to south throughout this region as well as an area now called “the land between” where Southern Ontario Limestone meets the granite of the Canadian shield, in the north of this region. The majority of FOCA members are based around Lake Simcoe, the twelfth largest freshwater lake in Ontario. Local, municipal government is an important point of contact for many rural, waterfront issues. FOCA has compiled a comprehensive list of municipal contact information for your area which can be found in the Municipal Contacts link at left; these documents are searchable.
This region has approximately 25 FOCA member associations.
