Experimental Lakes Area granted charitable Status

December 18 – The IISD-ELA has issued a media release stating that it has been granted charitable status by the Canada Revenue Agency.

This means donors can now get a tax receipt when they help fund the ecosystem research at the International Institute for Sustainable Development-Experimental Lakes Area (IISD-ELA). The IISD says this will also help open the doors to new fundraising to augment the support already received from the Provinces of Ontario, and Manitoba.

The IISD-ELA is the only research facility in the world that does whole-lake experimentation, research that is important in the sustainability of freshwater bodies around the world.
